Happy Easter

Today i start my mid-semester break
but it's only a week and meant to be a "study week" for our exams coming after .. nonetheless i cant help being happy because it's Easter long weekend too (Easter being one of my favourite holidays for guilt free chocolate munching) This Easter, i'm decorating my bedside table with cute little candle designs bought from Dusk.

I've also re-joined instagram! Because my previous account kept freezing so i deleted everything and re-started. Find me@missxcherie

Day 3

Day 3 was spent at Queenstown and our one and only "relaxing" day. Because we didn't go anywhere near the mountains, it was also the hottest day :( so i thought i was quite smart packing a dress (LOL) but then i didnt realise how windy it would get up at the sky view areas so my pose looks awkward in all the photos since i'm trying to stop my hair/dress getting blown everywhere.

Beautiful views below where you are able to choose to bungee jump/sky swing. Just watching them swing in the middle of the sky made me feel faint @@

Taken at Arrowtown, one of the earliest Chinese settlement areas during the gold rush. It has now been preserved into a tourist destination filled with shops, cafes and markets. I didn't take much photos there since it just looks like any normal town =0=

Afternoon = free time so the tour guide left us to do whatever. We made use of the opportunity to catch a 3hr steam boat event onto a separate island which was half farm/half tourist destination. On the lower floor you were able to see the steam engines and the workers; clothes were hung to dry (but i think this was pure decorative purposes for how it was in the olden days)

Upon arrival of the island we were introduced to our guide (below LOL) and taken to a farm to feed the
sheep and deer. Apparently "back in the days" the island was filled with sheep and the purpose of all
the steam boats was to transport the sheep to the farm and back to Queenstown to get exported (i spend way too much time reading all the information brochures/guides, so may seem boring but i love knowing all the historical content of the locations i visit ;]    -- @@

During boat ride

Had high tea at the cottage above surrounded by flowers <3 It was incredibly beautiful because as you sit on the terrace the backdrop was just of the pure blue lake and mountains. In the winter time, this would all be covered in snow!

His name is Angus ! so cute !

Day 2

A beautiful sunny 5am start. This was taken right having morning buffet @ hotel before boarding the bus to Mt Cook which was just down the road below the fog up ahead ^^"

^ Lake beneath Mt Cook i was really amazed at the stillness of the water and the vibrant blue colour just wanted to bathe in it haha, haven't seen anything like this in Sydney

Though it was summer, the top of the mountains were still covered in snow! Temperature was around 20 degrees.. Tour guide told us summer in NZ hardly reaches above 30 degrees. Wasn't quite sure what to pack but glad in the end i brought along a knit >_<

^ Fav pink shade

Cousin came along with us `` so while everyone was off exploring we just sat under the sun camwhoring - LOL. * note for anyone planning to go NZ in the summer; while it's very cool overall there is still heavy sunlight especially near the mountains and a lot of people in my tour group ended up sunburnt. Lucky i had on my two layers of sunscreen every day ;D

Rents went off with a bunch of people on the ski planes taking you u for a 30min ride above the peaks also landing you on top of a flat area on the mountains .. i didn't go since i'm afraid of planes let alone go on such a small one =(

Got to feed the salmons at the salmon farm LOL. Super tasty <3

New Year, New You

Just came back from New Zealand with family for the new year so will be updating with photos the upcoming days <3

Truly was an amazing way to end a wonderful year as it was incredibly beautiful there to relax (not that i was able to relax much being with a tour group and having daily 5 am wake up calls @_@ equivalent to 3am in Sydney)
The past few years have not gone so well for me but i'm glad to say 2011 had been one of the most enjoyable ` and i wish for the same, if not better in 2012.

My resolutions are simple this year -
` dress well
` eat well
` get enough sleep
` wake up early and efficiently
` work out
` spend time with family and friends
` cook more for D
` become more organised with uni workload
`start a collection on serums as i have enough face masks now ;D

Wish everyone the best for the new year
